Hi Thunderscorpion here, I attended the Art Show and sold some Art I made for $55.00 and I used the money to buy some hard to find Berserk Volumes.  Photos of the Art are available upon request. I,ve been enjoying an App called Manga Storm on the iPad, it allows me to read all sorts of Manga for free,  it’s not perfect, but it’s a great way to read Manga on the go I’ve already sunk hours into it you can get it for free at the App store.

Godzilla: The Half Century War #1

The story begins in 1954 Tokyo Japan as a column of Sherman tanks rolls in and encounters a Giant Godzilla they open fire on it, in response Godzilla breaths radioactive energy down on them destroying all but one tank as the two surviving soldiers Lieutenant Ota Murakami and his friend Kentaro Yoshihara navigate through the ruin streets of Tokyo as Godzilla moves on towards the evacuating civilians. Ota and kentaro bravely fire at Godzilla in order to lure him away, but the battle ends with Godzilla retreating to the safety of Tokyo bay as the navy then bombards it. The issue ends with Oto and Kentaro joining the A.M.F Anti-megalosaurus Force as Godzilla still poses a dangerous threat. I am a huge fan of James Stokoe’s works and like with Orc Stain it would seem as though he has done it again with this amazing new Godzilla comic, The art is fantastic the story is great I can’t get enough of Stokoe! Lord Baltimore and the beastly Leskovar springs into action battling the crab swarms and the issue ends with DR. Leskovar fighting to his death finishing off the last of the monster crabs trying to make up on his past sin’s as Lord Baltimore say’s his goodbyes and takes to the road continuing on his long dark journey ( 9 out of 10 ) I was waiting for the crab : P

Battle Royale Vol 2 (2)

Battle Royale Vol 2

The volume starts off with student Kazuo Kiriyama murdering his whole gang seemingly on a whim after he uses a simple coin toss to decide where or not he will play along with the program and kill his classmates the way he kills his loyal follower Mitsuru was especially cold, meanwhile students Sakura and Kazuhiko sit on the lege of a cliff and recall a date they once went on before deciding to refuse taking part in the program by jumping to their deaths, back with Shuuya and Noriko they come under attack by  new student Tatsumichi in the struggle Shuuya and Tatsumichi go off a cliff and Tatsumichi is killed by his own weapon then class president Kyoichi arrives with the intent to kill as Shogo Kawada shows up to shoot him down becoming an unlikely ally for Shuuya and Noriko as they eagerly join forces together and try to make it out alive, later friends Yumiko and Yukiko come up with the idea of haling out on a megaphone in an attempt to reach out and reason with their fellow students not to play the game this plan totally back fires when Kazuo shows up and kills them in cold blood. I love the realism in this manga it’s not imposable for something like this to  really happen, it asks important ethical questions and reminds us that you never known who people really are until there under presser. Deltora Quest Anime

Deltora Quest Anime

Hi Thunderscorpion here, I saw the second Berserk movie Battle for Doldrey I was disappointed it was like watching Berserk in on fast forward and there were times when the CG was stiff and they cut too much of the story I really think the old anime is better I hate when they use flash backs without any contexts for people who didn’t watch the older anime or read the Manga I can image them being very confused. I’ll watch the next Berserk movie Descent, but if things don’t slow down and get better than I may drop the movies all together. I’ve been watching the Deltora Quest anime lately, only the English Sub version I hate the dub of this anime with a passion. I actually like the anime better than the manga, the anime is much better righted then the manga, but the Book is better than both. I really enjoy these reviews and I hope you will too.

Rasl #14
The issue starts with Rasl and agent crow in a heated discussion about the Tesla journals when Sal shoots at Rasl and miss. Adams orders her men to arrest Sal, but Sal suddenly kills her and her men instead as Rasl use’s his machine to escape to a parallel world. Meanwhile, Rasl dust himself off and call’s Uma asking her to meet him at Lucky’s Bar when they both arrive and Rasl orders a drink, but he suddenly interrupted when Sal walks in gun’s blazing as everyone duck’s for cover and Rasl quickly gets the drop on Sal tying him up and leaving him in the Bar’s freezer. The issue end’s with Rasl and Uma driving out into the desert as they park in a secluded location and share a passionate kiss and a certain little creepy girl appears looking in through their window. Why didn’t Rasl just kill Sal when he had the chance. Also that creepy girl is so cool always showing up at random. ( 8 out of 10 )

Age of Reptiles: The Hunt #1
The issue begins with a mother and child dino lounging underneath a seemingly unstable rock formation when a trio of horned carnivores attacks them and the mother dino is killed, but the young one is able to escape. Several session’s later the young dinosaur has grown and is still being hunted by the same pack of horned carnivores when the chase leads the pursued dino, which I’ll be calling the Red carnivore from now on for account of its looks, hides inside the corp.’s of a large dead dinosaur, and I though they smelt bad on the outside…. meanwhile, he takes off as the horned dinos start eating his hiding place and after running though the desert and eating a few small blue dinos with a taste for tongue, must be French…. the red carnivore takes in some well needed rest before wakening up surrounded by the horned dinos, when suddenly the ground beneath them caves in and they fall into an underground cavern. the issue ends with the Red carnivore discovering a light in the tunnel as the horned dinos crowd him from behind causing them all to fall out off a ledge and into a canyon river below. so far the first Age of Reptiles comic is still the best, but this was great too. Baltimore: The Curse Bells #5
The story continues with the bells having been rung and the towns people having been turned into mindless zombies as Lord Baltimore is curiously unaffected by the curse and is able to strike down the Barbarian’s feathered servant as he then fights his way through the halls of Vampire Nuns before it is revealed that the Barbarian man is the incarnation of Hitler or something like that, as he exclaims his aspirations for conquest and it finally becomes clear to the tainted Nuns that his promise to cure them was a lie so they seek their redemption in feasting on his flesh. Elsewhere Haigus and Blavatsky from a kind of alliance before Baltimore arrives and Haigus turn’s into A Bat and flees. Then Baltimore frees MR. Hodge from his cell as he cleverly avoided the effects of the curse by plugging his ears, they bear witness to the vampire Nuns as they let them self’s burn in the sun light reduced to ash and the issue ends with Lord Baltimore and MR. Hodge parting ways as the Inquisitor later revisits the convent and seeks MR. Hodge for Questioning. ( 8 out of 10 ).

Conquest of The Planet of the Living Dead #1
Our story begins when A soldier by the name of Lieutenant Dan Greene is revived form a 600 year technologically induced sleep he awakes to find the world has changed now a protocol driven impersonal place committed to total war agents the zombie menace where people don’t have names only numbers he is assigned to a squad of troopers the oldest is a fifteen year old sergeant they are all breed for war and no little other than combat.  A great battle commences after an orbital bombardment on an infected planet as millions of soldier assault the planet’s surface. The Lieutenant’s squad survives the landings with one casualty, but the troopers are puzzled by the Lieutenant’s gesture of honoring the dead and mystified by his camp fire tale’s about honor and friendship, although they struggle to understand.  As the days go by fighting the undead the troopers become intruded by the Lieutenant’s story’s often asking questions but one day while they were walking across a roof top on patrol the floor caved in and the Lieutenant fell into a zombie den thinking his time is up his was surprised, when he is saved by his loyal squad. This comic surprised me I actually found myself caring about what happens to the characters I hope that they continue this story it surpassed my expectations ( 7 out of 10 ). Note: there is a preview of the Nazi Zombies Comic at the back of the issue it looks good I look forward to reading it.

I don’t know about you but I’m rooting for the Deinonychus they have been dyeing left and right in this story but I hope they can pull off A victory. ( 9 out of 10 )

Roth and the captain escape the planet and watch it blow apart in orbit. The art in this is different this time it looks incomplete the original planet of the living dead comic looked much better. Neon Genesis Evangelion: the Shinji Ikari Raising Project Vol 9
In this volume Misato orders her class into the pool on account of the heat, but tensions increases as Asuka rally’s the girls agents the boy’s and Misato exacerbates the situation by starting a water dodge ball compaction to decide who gets to stay in the pool. later DR. This series has way to many spontaneous ecchi moments I mean when it serves the story it’s ok but what are the souls of Shinji’s and Gendo’s shoe’s made of really Butter I think the whole accidentally fell excuse is BS Asuka needs to beat Shinji harder because I think he’s just playing stupid. Hi Thunderscorpion here!, that’s right I’m still reviewing even though it’s been awhile it’s hard for me to get the time to concentrate on making one of these reviews, but I’ve finally got one done.  The anime I’ve finished watching since my last review are “Mysterious Girlfriend X” and “Sankarea”.  Mysterious Girlfriend X is one of the grossest anime I’ve seen in a while because of the saliva aspect of the story.  I wasn’t sure whether or not I was supposed to be aroused or repulsed by it. Having said that I think it was a very nice anime and it was done in a very tasteful way for the most part; also Urabe is supper cute.  Next “Sankarea” what can I say I love zombies and this anime is a zombie romance that really works, although the whole decomposing thing with Rea was off-putting the drama was sold.  I just hope they kill her father at some point. Both of these anime’s need second seasons and I hold them firmly at ( 8 out of 10 ) well that’s it for what I’ve been watching, now on to the reviews and since I probably won’t make a new set of reviews untill after Christmas I’d like to wish you all a Merry Christmas!

Elsewhere, One-Eye Bowie and Zazu make it to Mondo pass taking note of the many skulls that cover its steps as, a flatulent armadillo like creature appears sounding alarm to a killer bunny as the river orc’s noisily approaches riding their Zor’s sounds like a recipe for mayhem and I’m going to love every moment of it.  Can’t wait for issue 8 ( 9 out of 10 ).

Comic Review July 18, 2012

Hi Thunderscorpion here I saw the first Berserk movie it was good but I prefer the older anime.  The movie felt like a rushed recap and left out a lot of back story.  The CG could have been better, but I still look forward to the next Berserk movie I also recently started watching an older anime called Ginga Nagareboshi Gin it’s got to be the most disturbing kids anime I’ve ever seen.  In the first episode alone several dogs are killed by a big scary one-eyed bear and theres this kid too, although he’s kind of annoying; but his grandfather is a total bad ass he’s got a big narly scar on his face and he cut’s off his own leg and force feed’s it to his dog while starving stranded in the woods.  This show is so cruel and brutal it’s just awesome, now on to the comic reviews.

Digimon Digital Monsters #1

I have been a Digimon fan since back when I was a kid so when I found out that dark horse comics my favorite comic publisher made a comic back in 2000 about my favorite kids anime Digimon I had to give it a look into. Digimon #1 follows the story of a group of kids at summer camp that get transported to a place called the digital world, populated by all kinds of imaginative and strange creatures the kids are surprised to find that they each have a digimon partner to join them as they face this brave new world, but enterductions are cut short as a gigantic insectoid digimon known as Kuwagamon attacks them and their digimon partners digivolve into stronger creatures in order to save them.  Sadly this comic was to me a disappointment, they didn’t even finish completing the story.  It ends at issue 12 which is about where episode 12 of the first session of adventure was at.  The characters are drawn poorly most the time and it really takes away from the feel of the story that the anime had, it was just not a very well done comic I wish they had done a better job making it, regardless stick to the anime I give Digimon Digital Monsters #1 ( 6 out of 10 ) Note: I am also aware that Tokyo pop had made a Digimon manga but I have not read it on account of it being out of print.

Age of Reptiles #1

The issue begins with a Teradactal like Pteranodon soaring in the sky when a Saltasaurus eating grass comes under pursuit by a pack of raptor like deinonychus, the chase comes to an end when one of the Deinonychus ambushes it’s pray killing it by cutting into its neck, but as the pack feast’s on its kill their interrupted by a much larger carnivore Tyrannosaur one of the Deinonychus fights back and manages to strike at it with its sharp toe claw, but the Tyrannosaur quickly responded with biting a tail in return and so the pack flees in defeat, later after the Tyrannosaur had finished eating its stolen meal, it journeys back to its young and then rest for the night. Meanwhile, the Deinonychus’s return for revenge by stealing the Tyrannosaur’s egg’s before making a quick getaway.  It is hard to believe that this is Ricardo Delgado’s first ever comic series created when it’s dawn and portrayed in a way that is so masterful if someone had told me that this was done by a seasoned comic illustrator with years of experience creating comics I would have believed  it in second Ricardo is a comic creating prodigy ( 9 out of 10 ) best first published comic ever.

Baltimore: The Curse Bells #1

Lord Baltimore is back in his latest adventure entitled  “The Curse Bells”, the issue start’s with Baltimore being guided by a young couple calming to know the whereabouts’ of Haigus when they enter a town with corpses littering the streets and the couple show’s Baltimore the Tavern where they last saw the vampire Haigus.  Baltimore pays his guild for their services and then they part way’s as Baltimore step’s into the tavern and into an ambush, but Lord Baltimore make’s short work of the feinds that would dare come between him and his vendetta and makes his way up the stairs to find that Haigus had left three attractive vampire lady’s to tease him, but Baltimore is in no mood for such interruptions’ as he proceeds in throwing one such vampire temptress out the window and into the light of the sun causing her to burn afterwards. Baltimore is attacked again this time by a pack of demon creatures hiding in the tree’s. Later Baltimore back tracks the couple that lead him to that town having discovered that they sent him there on Haigus’s behalf and demands for them to tell him haigus’s true whereabouts. His search for Haigus leads him to the city of Bludeschtag Austria where while having a drink at a bar he meet’s a former journalist named Simon Hodge.  Trying to gain information on vampires for a book he’s writing he pry’s Lord Baltimore with question’s when a young woman approaches interested in the subject of vampires, Baltimore suddenly fire’s into her chest revealing her to be a vampire, he then interrogates her for information on Haigus location, but to no avail and the issue ends with Mr. Hodge letting Baltimore in on a rumor he heard about the city’s Convent being infiltrated by vampires and that a Bavarian man is said to be there with the promise of a cure for both the plague and vampirism. Making the Convent seem a likely places to look for Haigus. ( 8 out of 10 )

A Very Zombie Christmas #3

The first story entitled “Toten Korps: Death Charge” starts off like your standard Naval war story with an Allied Cargo ship caring  Sherman tanks and amunition sailing towards “Murmansk” when a German submarine surfaces and fires a torpedo at them it hits causing some damage, but the cargo ship is able to set the sub a blaze with their deck gun before the sub surprises them by setting a course for their ship and colliding  with their ship’s hull filling the ship’s skipper with horror as the sub’s zombified German crew comes aboard the ship and attacks the cargo ships living crew, then the cargo ships amunition store’s explode causing the ship to sink leaving the skipper as the sole survivor of the attack floating on the ships wreckage in ice water before being saved by an Allied plane and then being sent to an insane asylum because of his crazy sounding encounter, but then an army officer arrives to release him, possibly so that he can work on some secret zombie related projects. The next story “The Littlest zombie Expert” Featuring the return of professor Elmyria Fuhd as she uses a group of well-meaning scavengers and nun’s to prepare for her future schemes and experiments. and then there’s some fairly weak zombie related Santa pin up’s before we move on to “Hell for the Holidays” a slightly morbid tale about a living dead girl who get’s Santa to change her status on his list from dead to undead, therefore qualifying her for gifts makes sense to you right?….. what it dosen’t?…. moving on!.  This comic end’s with a short hardly memorable story entitled “Warrior Nun Areala:”Cold Comfort” not really worth mentioning. I give this comic as a whole ( 7 out of 10 ).

Battle Royale Vol 1

In a world gone wrong a tyrannical Japanese government forces a random class of young students to combat one another to the death in a twisted game known as “The Program” The story follows the main character Shuuya Nanahara he’s an easy-going care free kind of guy who dreams of becoming a rock star, but his world is about to be turned upside down and his sanity pushed to the breaking point as he and his class of 42 students are abducted by the government while on their way to a class trip, and wake up in an unfamiliar class room to be greeted by their new teacher and tormentor the sick demented madman Yonemi Kamon he lay’s out the rule’s of the game explaining that it’s kill or be killed.  Also he notes that the things that they find around their neck’s are actually necklace bombs that will exploded if they stay in an unapproved area before disturbing the class by dragging out there teacher’s corp.’s in a body bag and then he informs Shuuya and his best friend Yoshitoki that he personal raped and killed the woman who raised them back at the orphanage, this sends Yoshitori into a murderous rage and Yonemi Kamon kills him in cold blood before shooting kind-hearted Noriko wounding her in the leg and then killing another student this time a girl named Fumiyo Fujitoshi and all just for his own amusement.  After their brutal introduction Yonemi starts to send the students out one at a time giving them each a bag full of supplies and with a randomly selected weapon when its Shuuya’s turn to head out he hopes to convince his fellow class mates to not kill one another and to work together to find a solution to their crises, but his hopes are crushed as he finds that student Akamatsu has already started the game by killing another student named Mayumi.  Shuuya ends up finding and teaming up with Noriko before helping to treat her wounds, meanwhile, girl student Megumi Etou hides alone in an abandoned house when she realizes that she still has her cell phone hoping to call someone for help she dials and one disgusting conversation with Yonemi Kamon later it becomes clear that there will be no calling for a rescue. The volume ends with the whore Mitsuko befriending Megumi just in time to stab her in the throat with a scythe. The art work in this is great in depicting the loads of graphic violence in this story although I think the students could have been drawn to look younger there supposed to be high school kids around the age of 15,  but some of them look as old as me I’m 20 by the way. my biggest complaint is in the translations you try reading some of the junk they’ve written.  The story is supposed to be set in Japan so why did they fill this Manga with bad 90’s American accents these flaws aside Battle Royale is still a thrill ride you soon won’t forget I give it. ( 8 out of 10 ).

Comic Review – August 14, 2011

Hi Thunderscorpion here, I recently found out about the Walking Dead session 2 coming out on October 16th, the trailer looks awesome I wonder if they are going to kill Shane right away like they did in the comic. Also I’m excited about the Berserk Golden Age I – Egg of the Supreme King movie said to be coming out in 2012.  As you may have already guessed I’m a huge fan of Kentaro Miura’s Manga masterpiece Berserk.

Neon Genesis Evangelion Vol 12

The story continues with NERV under siege by an entire division of FSSDF troops directed by SEELE. They plan to kill all the Eva Pilots and stop commander Ikari.  As the invading army assaults NERV mercilessly killing all they encounter, Shinji is cut off from support and Mesoto orders a still unconscious Asuka to be placed inside her Eva and lowered to the bottom of the lake.  Meanwhile, a depressed Shinji who has lost the will to fight is discovered by the enemy and held at gun point, when suddenly Shinji’s father arrives to save him and then reviled the terrible truth that he is an angel and that he plans to forsake humanity and become a god for himself.   Elsewhere Asuka awakes inside unit 02 and recovers from her depression to take on all nine of the Eva series by herself and the volume ends with Mesoto tragically sacrificing herself to get Shinji to unit 01 only for him to get there and not be able to pilot it.  There is going to be another volume after this one hope they get it to us sooner than later, it surprised the hell out of me at the part when Gendo showed up and saved Shinji for a second there I thought that Gendo actually had a heart, but of course he’s has to follow it up with telling Shinji that he never loved him, no wonder Shinji’s so messed up is there any character in all of fiction more of a bastard then Gendo Ikari. I give this volume ( 9 out of 10).

28 Days Later # 19

The issue continues with Clint and Selena holding out inside of a building as the armed gun man calling himself Captain Stiles dresses a leg wound.  Clint quickly devises a plan and go’s for a hummve as Selena move’s to lure the captain away, before being picked up by Clint.  After escaping they sink the hummve and then cast off in a boat, but later at night while they sleep in the boat’s cabin the captain climbs aboard and forces Clint at gun point to dive off the boat before revealing to Selena that his reason for hunting her down is to get revenge for the death of this friend the late Major Henry West. ( 7 out of 10)

Rasl # 8

The story begins with Rasl recalling some of the events that happened in the previous issue such as his affair with Mile’s wife Maya and the destruction of the compound before returning to the point where the last issue left off with Rasl meeting the creepy little girl.  While in the company of Rasl the little girl takes off Rasl jacket and shirt before crossing off Rasl’s tatoo of Maya’s name with her fingers signifying that she was dead, then she draws a familiar symbol in the dirt surprising Rasl before a strange man arrives and startles him claiming to have met him in a parallel world and the issue ends with  the man telling Rasl that the creepy little girl is god. This issue felt way to short for a 3.50 cover priced issue you’d expect a little more volume still a great story (8 out of 10).

The Last Zombie # 4

The issue begins with doctor Ian Scott awakening fr0m a nightmare about his wife Jen to find doctor Bopari monitoring him, she then comments on her concern that he is exhibiting the symptoms of the zombie virus even thought he was not bitten. Meanwhile, an army of raiders rally’s for the attack on the town and kills one man for cowardice.  Elsewhere, SGT. Warner and Seger have a chat with the leopards leader Ned and find out that the pit that doctor Scott Fell into was contaminated with the dead body’s of  the infected and the issue ends with doctor Scott performing a test on himself only to learn the terrible truth that he in fact is infected, while at the same time the raiders attack the town in full force. I also note that at the back of this issue there is the short Afrika Korpse comic. This series is my second most favorite zombie comic out there next to the Walking dead of course I give The Last Zombie #4 (8 out of 10).

The Secret History Book 14

The  story continues now following a man named Monsieur Daniel as he leaves a repatriation center and visits the ruins of Arcane 17 to see a strange star-shaped symbol.  Later he goes to a man named Leon Vasil to have his prized tarot card apraised, but Leon offers on value only the history of the cards, and Daniel recollects his time spent at a german concentration camp and how he was given the card by a mysterious man he met there known only as Robert the Devil.  Later Daniel comes to the home of the Woman Baroness Corvo and after sleeping together they are intruded on by two former SS members out to get Daniel, but Daniel quickly snatches up the Baronesses framed tarot Card draining the woman of her youth in the process as he makes his getaway.  Afterwards, Daniel is captured and beaten, but he manages to kill his captures with a sneak attack and the volume ends with Erlin and Lady Aker making an apearance at the ruins of Arcane 17. Comic Reviews – July 31, 2011

Hi Thunderscorpion here, its been a long time, about 3 or 4 months I think.  Sorry for my absence I lost the ability to use the internet for a while, but I have it now and I’ve been  writing some new reviews that I plan on posting  in the weeks to come. For now at least I’m back and looking forward to reviewing for you.

Rasl # 7

In this issue we learn about how Rob Johnson, AKA Rasl believes that Nikola Tesla was responsible for the unexplained 1908 Tunguska blast in Siberia. Also, the revelation is revealed, that while Rasl worked at the compound with his friend Miles on the St. george project, the two had a falling out when Miles learned about how Rasl had hidden the fact that he had Tesla’s lost journals in his possession.  As a result Rasl was to be pulled from the project, but Rasl had other plan’s as he instead hijacked the array machine and for the first time transported himself to a parallel world.  Later in the  present-time Rasl awakens from his fight at the casino to be questioned by Sal and Kalani Adams the head of security from the compound. They both still want Tesla’s lost journals from him, but Rasl remains stubborn as ever as they give him only 24 hours to produce the journals and send him on his way. The issue ends with the creepy little girl from before making a short but chilling appearance. ( 7 out of 10)

BERSERK Vol 11

The story continues with Judeau, Pipin, Guts and Casca on the run after having rescued Griffith, when the ruthless Black Dog Knights led by the beastly Wyald starts to catch up with them carrying the corpses on pikes of a family that aided in the Band of the Hawks escape.  Later the cruel mob of criminals with their twisted leader will clash with the Band of the Hawk in an epic cavalry charge and Gut’s will face the dreaded Wyald, whom suddenly transforms into a monster and knocks Guts out of the fight before trying to violate Casca, but Guts springs back into action and after a brutal battle he manages to subdue the beast. The volume ends with Wyald coming back to life and grabbing Griffith with the intent of crushing the life out of him, when Nosferatu Zodd appears and kills Wyald, before speaking a few words and taking off. ( 8 out of 10)

The stuff of legend the Jungle #4

The issue begins with the Jester and the other toys finding the mayor of hopscotch tide-up hanging from a tree, when an indian named Artic arrives to help aid the ill princess, meanwhile, while on trial Max the bear confesses in front of the Serpent King and his friends the terrible truth that he is in-part responsible for what happened to the toy’s master and that while in the thralls of jealousy over the young masters pet puppy he opened the way for the boogeyman. Elsewhere in the dark the toys master and his companion run for their lives after having stolen a pie, but there luckily saved by a couple of friendly train conductors riding on a train called Bessie. Later, the boogeyman’s henchman Homer kills the General with a bat.  The issue ends with Max after having challenged and defeated the Serpent King and becoming the new king of the animals being ostracized by many of his friends for his treason. ( 8 out of 10)

The last zombie #3

The story continues with the group of soldiers discovering that what they thought where zombies were actually lepers, learning this too late for some as they gunned down a few diseased civilians in the panic. After settling things with the lepers understanding leader, they all go out in search of the missing doctor Scott finding him un-conscious in a mass grave that the lepers had been using to burn their dead.  Later doctor Scott awakes in the Armored Personal Carrier seemingly well and the issue ends with a group of raiding scout’s observing them from a distance before heading back to their large camp where lot’s more of them are preparing for an all out attack on the town.  I also note that at the back of this issue there is the un-holy night comic part 2.  I give the last zombie #3 ( 8 out of 10)

28 Days later #18

The issue begin’s with Clint and Selena waiting watching over a parked car in suspiciously good-looking condition, they later confirm their suspicion when they stake-out the car overnight and see that a man in a uniform with a gun is waiting for them, so the two of them light-up a house as a distraction and when the man went to investigate the light Clint and Selena took off with the car, only to have the man pursue them in a hummve. Clint’s arm is shot in the process before they were able to escape. Later the two are discovered by a group of American Soldiers who plan to take them to a safe zone ending their nightmarish journey, but then the uniformed man returns and kills the soldiers and the issue ends with Clint and Selena taking cover in a near by building. Comic Review May 8, 2011

Hi Thunderscorpion here I’ve been working on a lot of my other projects lately,  but recently I received a bunch of comics that I ordered and I plan on making a number of new posts; sometime after the 8th.  Till then here’s a new set of comic reviews .

The Littlest Zombie V.S The Littlest Vampire #1

This issue starts off at the old Rockefeller building where the Littlest Vampire, a little vampire girl with a distinctive lisp complains about having less than half a glass of blood to drink for dinner after it is explained to her that the supply of human blood is being rationed because of the zombie apocalypse, she throws a temper tantrum and is thrown in her room and grounded, but she soon checks out and scours the streets in search of survivors to quench her thirst for blood when she finds a small group of survivors made up of two men named Ben and Jerry and an orphan boy named spank who slyly snuck along for the ride. So the Littlest Vampire use’s her mind control powers on them and is surprised to see that the young boy spank was unaffected by her powers because of the night vision goggles he is wearing so she orders the two other men under her control to get the boy and in the process they trip one of their own traps and a grenade blows  the two men up and draws in a crowd of zombies as well as the littlest zombie, which chases after the boy along with the littlest vampire and the story ends with sly Spanky outfoxing them all and making a get away in his dead companions car unaware that the Littlest Vampire and Littlest Zombie are still clinging to the back of the vehicle. I loved this issue and I hope that they do more comics with the Littlest Vampire and the Littlest Zombie together in the future (8 out of 10).

Rasl#6

In this issue we get an interesting look at Nikola Tesla.  Where we learn many fascinating facts about Tesla’s life such as the fact that Thomas Edison created the electric chair as a way to discredit Tesla’s more advanced alternating currents form of electricity and that tesla had amazing ideas like wireless communication and end all wars super weapons that could protect the earth from invaders from outer space, mixed in with the brief history of Nikola Tesla we see Rasl up to his old tricks steeling priceless art in alternate worlds and selling them to art dealers elsewhere later while Rasl drinks and plays cards at a casino he is approached by Sal who asks him to go get the journals he wants but Rasl takes a swing at him and the two fight and the issue ends with Sal scoring a hard punch on Rasl. I really enjoyed the history of this issue that Nikola Tesla was a brilliant man I give this issue (8 out of 10).

Baltimore The Plague Ships #5

The issue continues where they last left off with the strange fungus flowers now spreading into the sea and suddenly reanimating the many dead soldiers beneath the depths of the sea as Lord Baltimore and Vanessa fight desperately to fend them off; the zombies become too great in numbers rising by the thousands.  Lord Baltimore leads Vanessa into the safety of a near-by submarine as he stays out and face’s the undead mob in mass while in the sub Vanessa recalls the rest of what Lord Baltimore told her of his past about how after his wife died he hunted down his tainted family and burned them all and how he put a nail in his leg for each one in order to never forget. Once it was day light Vanessa emerged from the sub to find Lord Baltimore still mercilessly alive and standing he explained to her how he held them off untill the sun came and finished the rest for him and that he say a ship off the horizon, after the two are taken to a port Vanessa makes the decision to return home having come to the conclusion that Lord Baltimore is cursed and that staying with him would end up with her dead, the issue ends with Vanessa’s Grandmother being tortured by a man from the inquisition asking for Lord Baltimore’s whereabouts .This comic series is awesome and loaded with all kinds zombie and vampire Goodness (8 out of 10)

The Secret History  Book 13

The issue begins in Valdemone Sicily where workers unearth the ark of the covenant, but german soldiers arrive to attack them and take it for Dyo.  Elsewhere in Sicily a glider plane lands carrying a group of american paratroopers who are welcomed by Itzar as he guides them to a village he is surprised to find his old friend the Rebel who tells Itzar about  past wars and how the ark came to be where it was, meanwhile the germans weather weapon has begun to manipulate the weather conditions threatening the d-day landings, but Itzar and the group of american soldiers makes their way to the site of the weather weapon and Itzar selflessly walks into the device shutting it down saving the landings, but mysteriously disappearing in the process and the issue ends with Reka and Erlins Bomber dropping an atomic bomb in japan over Nagasaki with Dyo and the ark on the ground. (8 out of 10)

Neon Genesis Evangelion Shinji Ikari Raising Project Vol 6

In this volume another layer of intrigue is added to the plot in the form of a possible love interest in new student in Shinji’s class Mana Kirishima; to the dismay of Asuka she has yet another rival to compete for Shinji’s affections.  Life go’s on as usual as Shinji helps Rei with practicing for a class quire competition and then  Misato has shinji and the gang spend the day cleaning the class room later Hikari has a Hinamatsuri party at her house and every one join’s in on the festivity especially Misato when she stops on by and passes out liquor to the girls as customary, but denying Shinji,Toji and Aida a drink.  The evening ends with Shinji seeing a buzzed Asuka back home and the volume ends with the group taking a trip to old Tokyo, where they visit the Japan heavy chemical industrial cooperative where things escalate out of control and shinji and rei are forced to use the air ducks in order to reach the facility’s main control room to prevent a reactor meltdown. Comic Review January 3,2011

Hi Thunderscorpion here, this will be the first post of the New Year which makes this blog a year old I can’t say that the blog is where I originally expected it to be at this point in time, but now I understand what I can realistically expect from this blog.  Although I was hoping to reach a larger audience by now I feel that I have helped a small amount of people find comics that they might not have otherwise discovered and that’s good enough for me.  Anyway, I’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year and also mention that sometime in the near future I will have a new post for you all on the best comic’s that I’ve read in 2010 till then have a good one.

Baltimore The Plague Ships #1

Baltimore The Plague Ships #1

I had somehow missed this comic when it first came out, but later when I learned that it had zombies in it well that’s all it took to get my ears perked. The story takes place in World War I in Europe where the war has ended due to a plague cased by vampires.  The issue starts off with Lord Baltimore chasing after a group of ghoulish zombies as they run thru the city streets and then on top a church, but as they climb a rope to reach a zeppelin flouting above suddenly a bolt of lighting strikes them and Lord Baltimore get tossed into the air and is knocked unconscious when he awakes and finds himself in a room with an old woman and her young grand-daughter named Vanessa Kalderas. Well with them he talks of his quest to kill a particular vampire called Haigus and the young woman named Vanessa  say’s that she had seen him and that the vampire that  he seeks  is at Livorno, but she wants him to take her away from the town in return. He denies her wish and walks out of the house only to be suddenly knocked out by the towns people and  he is taken to a prison cell where he is told he must stay until a man from the inquisition arrives to judge him and the issue ends with the young woman from before showing up at Lord Baltimore’s prison cell with an offer his freedom in exchange for him to take her with him to Livorno.  The art in this is done by Ben Stenbeck I liked his work in the living with the dead comics the guy sure can draw some great zombies.   I really liked this comic it was better than what I heard it was and I look forward to reading the next issue the preview for it looks fantastic I give this issue ( 8 out of 10 ).

Rasl #2

Rasl #2

In this issue many of my questions were answered as where the 1st issue revealed little and left me wondering what was going on the story continues in this issue with the time traveling art thief that we now know is named Rasl hence the title, so he returns home from what was apparently a parallel universe and he gives the painting that he stole to his girlfriend even thou it has a bullet hole in it from when he had that run in with that strange faced man in the trench coat leaving it worthless. After spending the night with her he goes out on the town and returns back home to find his girlfriend murdered and the part of the painting with the bullet hole in it cut out in a heart shape know doubt left as a warning from the strange man he had met before and the issue ends with Rasl strapping on his weird-looking machine and using it to travel to another parallel universe; where he is going I do not know, but I can’t wait to find out in the next exciting  issue of Rasl.  Also about the strange guy that Rasl meets in the first issue while in the 2 nd issue he is refered to as the lizard faced man, but I think he looks more like Joe Camel or something, anyway great comic I give it ( 8 out of 10)

P.S   I noticed that the back of the issues line up to make a  picture that was cool.

The Terminator 1984 #3

Terminator 1984 #3

In this final issue the group enjoys a time of peace at their hideout house in Mexico that is until the terminator arrives and a pregnant Sarah and Ben drive off in their get away car and Kyle stays behind to confront the Terminator, but he gets shot and Sarah orders Ben to stop the car so he can deliver her baby, but as the Terminator approaches their car a still alive Kyle fires a rocket at the Terminator and then finishes it off with a sledgehammer finally ending its rampage, but sadly Kyle’s wounds are to severe and he dies after talking with Sarah and Ben and seeing his new-born son.  The issue ends with glimpse of their future as Ben and Sarah live for the time happily and  at peace as they raise a very young John Conner. I liked this ending and I belive it was a very nice tribute to the Terminator movie’s ( 8 out of 10 ).
